ANNIVERSARY ART ATTACK
Break out the spine-bruising bumps: it’s time to celebrate Naughty Dog’s 30th birthday. PlayStation’s premier studio recently held an exhibit to honour its history, filled with tribute art commemorating its games; including this TLOU piece by artist Jose Emroca Flores, which was being sold for ‘just’ $1,800.
REALLY OLD MUTT, NEW TRICKS
The developer was formed in 1984 by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin. Though both co-founders left in 2004, they’d be proud of an exhibit that featured over 60 pieces of production work and prints from ten artists who appeared in the recent The Art Of Naughty Dog book.
NAUGHTY DOGS PLAYING POKER
Read ‘em and weep, Joel. This homage to CM Coolidge’s series of pooch paintings was designed by artist ‘Pandamusk’. Some royal flush and Sully-loving punter nabbed it for $500.
CORDYCEPS AND THE CITY
Nothing says ‘fine art’ quite like a devastating pandemic. Anthony Wu’s ‘Nature, Human’ shows what would have happened if Ellie wasn’t immune to the Cordyceps Brain Infection in The Last Of Us. The savagely striking work went for a song a song that cost $300.
NEW-GEN NATE
It wasn't all just artisans drooling over sexy oil paintings at the event. There were also TVs set up that just, oh, happened to show PS4-rendered Nathan Drake. Uncharted 4 lead game designer Kurt Margenau even tweeted a pic of the fortune hunter, who now looks more like Nolan North…
THE HARE NECESSITIES
Turns out, the apocalypse makes for some damn purdy pictures. Just take this piece by Teegan White, depicting the poor critter Ellie arrows in TLOU’s Winter chapter. Someone send a condolence card to the March Hare.
ONE LAST TIME FOR UNCHARTED
It’s Uncharted 4! In $250 poster form! This sexy print by Cory Schmitz and Irene Koh reiterates A Thief’s End’s 2015 release. It also contains a passage from the King James Bible’s Book Of Luke. Could Nate be chasing a religious artefact? Please let it be the Nazi-melting Ark Of The Covenant.

Jak & Daxter statues and trinkets also adorned the exhibit, which was held in Alhambra, just outside LA. The artistic extravaganza ran between 27 Sep and 12 Oct. God, we miss that adorable elf and ottsel duo.
GET IN THE HOLE
Among the gallery’s treasure trove of gems lay concept art for an undeveloped project a game, “centred around a city that had been built up around a giant hole,” according to the studio’s 30th anniversary art book. Maybe ND will return to this ‘Holey’ Grail after Uncharted.
